Calvary Christian Profile
Calvary Christian School was founded in 1970 in
southern New Hampshire. C.C.S. is located in the high technology area of
New England in Derry. It is in a rural setting, nestled 40 miles north
of Boston, 25 miles from the seacoast, and 25 miles south of several
mountain ski resorts. Calvary is a Christian school with traditional
classroom setting and a progressive curriculum for kindergarten through
grade twelve. C.C.S. is a college preparatory school which emphasizes
mastery and academic excellence. Calvary offers an outstanding Christian
education to the honor and glory of the Lord Jesus Christ. We understand
the total life of man. We understand regeneration to be the renewal of
the image of God in knowledge, righteousness and holiness as exemplified
by the Lord Jesus Christ. We understand the total life of man to be a
spiritual enterprise so that his social, mental, physical and spiritual
activities, express unreserved love for God. The task of raising
children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord is assigned by God to
the parents (Deut. 6:6-9; Eph. 6). The school, therefore, must function
as an extension of the home as it assists parents in fulfilling THEIR
God-ordained responsibilities. God ordained the church to be the primary
tool for instruction in spiritual matters; therefore, Calvary Christian
School is an inseparable part of Calvary Bible Church.
WE BELIEVE . . .
-
in the inerrancy of the Scriptures which are
authoritative in all areas of faith and practice. (II Timothy
3:16-17; II Peter1:19-21)
-
that there is one God, eternally existing in
three persons: Father, Son (Jesus Christ), and Holy Spirit.
(Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19)
-
in the deity of Jesus Christ and His virgin
birth. (Isaiah 7:14; Luke 1:30-35,3:21-22; John 1:1-2)
-
that man was created in the image of God; that
he sinned and thereby incurred not only physical death, but also
spiritual death which is separation from God. (Genesis 1:26-27,
3:6-19; Romans 3:10-23; Ephesians 2:1-ff)
-
that Jesus Christ died as a complete,
substitutionary sacrifice for the sins of all men. (Romans 3:24-28,
5:8-10; I Peter 2:24-25; I John 2:1-2)
-
in the bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ.
(John 20:1-29; Acts 1:1-3, 9-11; I Corinthians 15:1-4)
-
that on the sole condition of personal faith
in Jesus Christ, men are brought into a right relationship with God,
and are thereby placed into the body of Christ, His Church. (Acts
2:38-47; Romans 10:9-13)
-
that the heart of every believer is indwelt by
the Holy Spirit. (Romans 8:9-11; I Corinthians 3:16)
-
that the believer is eternally secure through
the work and power of the Holy Spirit. (Ephesians 1:13-14, 4:30;
Romans 8:29-39; I John 5:11-12)
-
that the church is composed solely of all true
believers in Jesus Christ, and is the body and bride of Christ.
(Ephesians 1:18-23, 4:4-6; I Corinthians 12:12; Revelation 21:2-9)
-
that there are two ordinances of the church –
Baptism and the Lord’s Supper. (Matthew 28:19; Luke 22:19-20; I
Corinthians 11:23-27)
-
that the task of the church is to evangelize
the world and to make disciples until Christ returns for His Bride.
(Matthew 28:19-20; Ephesians 4:11-16; II Timothy 2:2)
-
that both the believer and the unbeliever will
be resurrected bodily in their own order: the saved unto everlasting
and conscious bliss, the lost unto everlasting and conscious
punishment. (I Corinthians 15:1-50; I Thessalonians 4:13-18;
Revelation 20:11-15)
-
in the pre-tribulational rapture of the
church. (I Thessalonians 1:9-10, 4:13-18; II Thessalonians 2:1-8)
-
in the personal, bodily, and pre-millennial
return of Jesus Christ after the tribulation to rule and reign for
1,000 years, after which He will deliver the kingdom to the Father for
eternity. (Acts 1:11; II Peter 3:1-13; Revelation 19:11-16, 20:1-6)
